Sports Day for Charity

Kids Obstacle Course

It’s all about the CHALLENGE! The Wipeout Cancer Kids Obstacle Course challenges your child to jump, think, and slide his or her way to the finish line. Your child will be tested on a custom designed obstacle course with 10-13 unique physical & mental challenges.

Date: Saturday, July 30, 2022
Time: 9:00am-3:00pm
Location: Cabrillo Middle School:  2550 Cabrillo Ave, Santa Clara, CA 95051

Pre-registration on-line is now closed. We are excited to share that we will have on-site registration. Cost*:  $30 per child* 

Start Times:

  • Check-in opens at 8:30am

  • Group photos at the start of each wave

  • AM Wave

    • 4-8 years old: 9:15am to 10:30am

    • 9-12 years old: 10:45am to 12pm

  • PM Wave

    • 4-8 years old: 12:15pm to 1:30pm

    • 9-12 years old: 1:45pm to 3pm

Kids may participate in either or both waves for their age group and may run the course as many times as possible.

*Please note we have made some slight adjustments to the times originally posted.

Format:

  • Custom obstacle course designed specifically for kids

  • Difficulty scaled to age groups (i.e. obstacles increase in difficulty with age)

  • 10+ obstacles for ages 7-12 years (this will not be a timed event)

  • 6+ obstacles for ages 4-6 years

  • Ages 4-6 may be accompanied by an adult (adults may not be on the actual obstacle)

Adults are asked to stay off the course for the safety of the kids running the course.

*Unlike previous years, lunch and t-shirts are not included with registration.  We will have a couple of food trucks on site providing lunch for purchase.  We will also have Wipeout Cancer t-shirts available on a first-come, first-serve basis the day of the event.

Volleyball

Join us for a fun day on the grass playing volleyball for a great cause!  We welcome teams of all levels to join us, including: Juniors (18 and under – reverse co-ed or all girls), Seniors (teams with a combined age of 160+), or Families introducing the next gen of players (teams that include a combo of parents/kids).

Date: Saturday, July 30, 2022
Time: Check-in from 7am-8am; Captains Meeting 8:10am, First Serve 8:30am
Location: Cabrillo Middle School:  2550 Cabrillo Ave, Santa Clara, CA 95051

Format: Reverse Co-ed 4′s (grass)
All teams (except Juniors – Girls) consist of 2 male and 2 female players. Teams may have up to 6 players on the roster. Teams may have more than 2 females, but extra females must be designated as a male before the start of play. Men must hit behind the 10-foot line and are not allowed to block.

For each division, there will be pool play in the morning and playoffs in the afternoon.

Divisions:

  • Fun (combination of former “Friendship” and “Lower” divisions):  This division is for teams looking to get started in tournament play and those looking to get back out to play and reconnect with our community.  Top 2 teams in each pool will advance to playoffs with prizes awarded to the top 2 teams.  No jump serves allowed (except Juniors players).

  • Competitive (combination of former “Lower and “Upper” divisions):  Equivalent to A/BB/Upper B and higher in adult leagues.  The competitive level will send everyone to playoffs being split into upper and lower playoffs.  Prizes for top 2 teams in each playoff division

Teams may be requested to change levels after review of team rosters by the Tournament Director.

Cost*:  $160 per team of 4, $30 each additional player, maximum of 6 players per team.

Prizes to the top 2 teams in each division.
